Error Code F or U in AEG Induction Hob
Is your AEG induction hob showing the error code F or U? Have a read of our article to see if we can help diagnose what’s wrong. If you still need further help, contact us about our Repair & Care options.
What Does it Mean?
On an AEG induction hob, error codes ‘F’ or ‘U’ generally mean no compatible cookware is detected, usually because the pan was removed, is too small, or isn’t induction-ready; the fix is to place a suitable, flat, magnetic pan (like cast iron) correctly on the zone. If the issue persists after checking the pan, it could indicate a connection fault or sensor problem, requiring a service call.
Common Causes and Solutions
No Pan/Pan Removed
The hob turns off and shows F or U if the cookware is lifted off the zone.
Incompatible Cookware
Using glass, copper, or non-magnetic stainless steel pots will trigger the code. Make sure your cookware is induction hob compatible.
Pan Too Small/Poor Contact
The pan must be flat and cover most of the zone for proper contact.
Incorrect Function
Using ProCook with only one pan on a flexible zone will trigger this fault code.
How to Fix
Check the Pan
Ensure the pan is induction compatible – test by making sure a magnet sticks firmly to the base – and that it has a flat bottom.
Position Correctly
Place the pan centred on the zone, making sure it covers a large part of it.
Reset the Hob
Turn the zone off and on, briefly switch the hob off at the breaker to reset.
