Error Code F or U in AEG Induction Hob

Is your AEG induction hob showing the error code F or U? Have a read of our article to see if we can help diagnose what’s wrong. If you still need further help, contact us about our Repair & Care options.

What Does it Mean?

On an AEG induction hob, error codes ‘F’ or ‘U’ generally mean no compatible cookware is detected, usually because the pan was removed, is too small, or isn’t induction-ready; the fix is to place a suitable, flat, magnetic pan (like cast iron) correctly on the zone. If the issue persists after checking the pan, it could indicate a connection fault or sensor problem, requiring a service call.

Common Causes and Solutions

No Pan/Pan Removed

The hob turns off and shows F or U if the cookware is lifted off the zone.

Incompatible Cookware

Using glass, copper, or non-magnetic stainless steel pots will trigger the code. Make sure your cookware is induction hob compatible.

Pan Too Small/Poor Contact

The pan must be flat and cover most of the zone for proper contact.

Incorrect Function

Using ProCook with only one pan on a flexible zone will trigger this fault code.

How to Fix

Check the Pan

Ensure the pan is induction compatible – test by making sure a magnet sticks firmly to the base – and that it has a flat bottom.

Position Correctly

Place the pan centred on the zone, making sure it covers a large part of it.

Reset the Hob

Turn the zone off and on, briefly switch the hob off at the breaker to reset.

What is Hotpoint Washing Machine Error Code F09?

What is Hotpoint Washing Machine Error Code F09?

Is your Hotpoint washing machine showing error code F09? Check out our guide to causes and solutions here.

Hotpoint Washing Machine Error code F09

A Hotpoint washing machine F09 error code signals a software or memory fault, meaning the machine’s settings are corrupted or it’s stuck, often shown by flashing lights or an unresponsive display, with common causes being a faulty control board or corrupted memory chip, requiring a simple reset (unplug for 10 mins) or a professional engineer for potential reprogramming or module replacement if the error persists

What it Means

  • Software/Configuration Error: Corrupted settings or a problem with the machine’s internal memory.
  • Machine Unresponsive: You can’t select the programs, lights may flash.

How to Fix it

  • Power Reset: Unplug the washing machine from the wall socket and wait for 10 minutes to clear the memory, then plug it back in and try a cycle.
  • Check for Related Issues if Error Continues: While F09 is software, some users report it alongside heating or pump issues, so briefly check the drain filter for clogs and ensure the door is fully latched.

When to Call and Engineer

  • If the F09 error returns after a power reset, the issue likely lies with the main control board or memory chip.
  • A professional may need to reprogram the module or replace the faulty control board (PCB).

tumble dryer

Indesit Washing Machine Error Code F11

An Indesit washing machine F11 error code indicates a pump or drainage issue, meaning water isn’t being emptied, often due to a blocked filter, debris in the pump impeller or sump hose, or a faulty drain pump or control board. To fix it, first unplug the machine, then check and clean the pump filter and impeller, inspect the sump hose for blockages, and if problems persist, the pump or main control board might need professional attention.

Safety First

Unplug the washing machine from the mains power.

Drain Water

Place a shallow tray and towel in front, then unclip the kickplate and slowly open the drain hose to empty water into the tray.

Check the Filter

Unscrew the filter cap, remove it, and clear any fluff, coins, or debris.

Inspect the Impeller

With the filter out, use a long screwdriver or pliers to spin the pump impeller (a small plastic propeller) to ensure it moves freely and isn’t jammed by fabric.

Check the Sump Hose

Tilt the machine onto its side and check the large hose (sump hose) connecting the drum to the pump for blockages like small socks.

Test the Pump

If clear, the pump motor itself might be faulty. You can test its electrical resistance with a multimeter or listen for it trying to run.

Wiring and PCB

If the pump and hoses are fine, inspect wiring for damage or corrosion, as a faulty connection to the main control board (PCB) could be the cause.

If these steps don’t resolve the F11 error, the drain pump or the main control board likely needs replacement, and you should contact a professional.

Need To Take Action?

If you own a home appliance, from kitchen gadgets to home tech, our standard Appliance Care Plan helps keep your equipment running smoothly. If you notice any faults, don’t worry with the optional Repair & Care upgrade, we can have an engineer out to you quickly.
